Autogenic Training (AT) can be used to improve general health and emotional well-being. People who have learnt AT commonly report feeling more confident, assertive and able to cope.

AT has been shown clinically to be of benefit in the following conditions: sleep disorders, panic attacks, asthma, phobias, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, arthritis, muscular pain and tension, migraine, fatigue, bladder disorders, sexual dysfunction, aggression and unresolved grief. Recent research has shown a reduction in heart attack risks such as high blood pressure and raised blood cholesterol.

AT can be used to improve performance or work efficiency. It can be an extremely effective stress management technique in the workplace. Regular practice of AT can also enhance creativity, optimise sports performance or facilitate personal growth and inner development.

Once learned, AT is a useful life-skill, providing the inner resources to maintain healthy balance and deal with stress in body and mind.
